Linda Cheek
"Anything under the sun is beautiful if you have the vision; it is the seeing of the thing that makes it so. Whenever possible, I prefer to paint “on the spot” to get the mood of the place. My reaction to the surroundings are a vital importance to the production of a good painting. For me, one of the greatest joys of landscape painting is to spend time out-of-doors. I prefer to paint directly from nature, in order to honor nature with an openness and spontaneity."
